“Is this all there is? Is this the story of my life? Some things are just not what I thought they would be. Honestly, I am not crazy about how things have gone: unfulfilled, unsatisfied, uninterested, bored, and questions for the God that is running the universe. Is this the “full life”? If this is the story God wrote for my life-then I just might be mad at God. Do I have any say in how the story of my life is written?”
Have you ever been there? Those are the unsettling thoughts of Solomon as he divinely journaled through his relationship with God in the book of Ecclesiastes.
for the next 3 weeks we will be wading into the waters of being MAD@GOD and unearthing the two perspectives of
John 10:10
The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I [Jesus] have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.
and
Ecclesiastes 1:2-3
“Meaningless! Meaningless!” says the Teacher.
“Utterly meaningless!
Everything is meaningless.”
What does man gain from all his labor at which he toils under the sun?
One thing i know for sure-God can handle you and i being MAD@HIM and the first step is fessing up to it.
so, consider being right out there in the open and jotting down the stuff where we have been (or are) MAD@GOD.
